About Me

A big welcome to my blog, livethenewnormal.co.uk

Just because something is normal doesn’t mean that it’s right, desirable or as it should be.

“The New Normal” seems to be a particularly overused and hijacked phrase, often with negative connotations. I see the concept of a new normal as one that holds within its grasp, endless possibilities. The possibility for positive and progressive change. An opportunity to look at things from a different angle or perspective. To shine a light on “what is” and imagine “what could be”. This isn’t to say that new is always better or that change is always good, but what if the ability to LiveTheNewNormal provides us as a society, with a unique opportunity to reevaluate our lives and reimagine them, not only for ourselves but for generations to come. Few things in life are static and it seems to me that normal is an ever-evolving concept. Let’s shake things up, reeducate ourselves and see what we can achieve if we put our minds to it!

In no particular order, I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, a vegan, a writer, a musician, a reader, a critic, a skier, a paddleboarder, an optimist, a sceptic and a dreamer. I am constantly questioning and learning, thinking and hoping, worrying and considering. I invite you on this journey with me. I can’t promise that it will be an easy ride, that it will answer all our questions or that it will always make sense! What I can promise, however, is that in these most unprecedented of times, we all possess the wherewithal and ability to affect a larger change.
